The Los Angeles KISS and the Orlando Predators will meet in a Week 4 matchup on Saturday at the Amway Center. LA has gotten off to a 2-1 start, which is their best three game start in franchise history.
LA bounced back from an embarrassing loss to Arizona by defeating Cleveland 47-42 last week. Orlando has shown that they will be legitimate Arena Bowl contenders so far this year. Orlando is 3-0, and they and Arizona are the only undefeated teams left in Arena Football.
Orlando came back last week to defeat Jacksonville, 63-56. This would be a huge statement if LA were to win this game. By beating one of the best teams in the league on the road, LA would prove their for real. But, that would be extremely difficult as Orlando has had a lot of success at home the past few years.
Orlando has the second best offense in the league, and they are led by quarterback Randy Hippeard. Hippeard is 60-95 this year, with 765 yards and 16 touchdowns. Hippeard has two very quality receiving options. Greg Carr and Brandon Thompkins have combined for 13 of Hippeard’s 15 touchdowns. Leading the Preds on defense is Varmah Sonie, who leads the team with 24.5 tackles this season.
For LA, two former members of the San Jose SaberCats, head coach Omarr Smith, and quarterback Nathan Stanley have made incalculable impacts this season. Stanley has gone 68-115, for 736 yards and 12 touchdowns.
The clear number one option for Stanley this year has been Captain Morgan. He has 219 yards and six touchdowns this season. He also has two touchdowns on the ground this season.
DJ Stephens has also made a huge impact, the two way player has 289 yards and two touchdowns this year. LA will need to get out to an early lead, and limit penalties. Orlando will need to hold onto to early leads.
