The Los Angeles KISS were one week removed from an upset over the Jacksonville Sharks, and they were looking to carry that momentum into Saturday night’s game against the Arizona Rattlers. The Rattlers weren’t going to mess around with the upset-minded KISS, as they throttled LA 69-28.

The Rattlers got out to a quick lead when Nick Davila and Rob Windsor connected on a four yard touchdown pass to give Arizona a 7-0 lead. On the next possession, Mykel Benson ran in from four yards to increase the lead to 14-0. The KISS didn’t want to go away yet, as they quickly responded when Captain Morgan caught an eight yard pass from Nathan Stanley to cut the lead to 14-7.

Near the end of the first quarter, Davila hit Kerry Reed on a one yard TD pass to increase the Rattler lead to 21-7. The KISS had a response when Morgan caught a 28 yard pass from Stanley to cut the deficit to 21-14. By halftime, Arizona held a 35-21 lead over the KISS. Davila and Windsor hooked up yet again, this time on a 19 yard pass to give Arizona the 41-21 lead.

On the next LA possession, Brandon Collins connected with Stanley on an eight yard pass to cut the Arizona lead to 41-28. From that point, LA never scored again, and Arizona showed why they are the favorite to win the ArenaBowl. They continued their dominance from last week, when they beat Portland 80-28. Davila went 20-26 for 193 yards and five touchdowns. Mykel Benson had nine carries for 36 yards and three touchdowns. Rob Windsor dominated again, he had 13 catches for 151 yards and four touchdowns. Nathan Stanley went 21-44 for 262 yards and three touchdowns. Stanley also had three interceptions. Brandon Collins had eight catches for 91 yards and one touchdown.

Captain Morgan had six catches for 89 yards and two touchdowns. DJ Stephens added six catches for 79 yards. The Rattlers had 24 first downs, LA had 19 first downs. The KISS had nine penalties for 52 yards, Arizona had four penalties for 28 yards. LA committed three turnovers,

Arizona didn’t have any turnovers. The Rattlers improved to 2-0, the KISS dropped to 1-1. LA will look to bounce back next week against the Cleveland Gladiators while the Rattlers will face the Tampa Bay Storm next week.
