The Philadelphia Soul hosted the Jacksonville Sharks at the Wells Fargo Center in Voorhees, NJ Monday night. The Soul were looking to avenge their American Conference championship loss to the Sharks last season.

The Sharks defense stepped up big in the first half, stopping the Soul twice on fourth down twice. At the end of the first half, however, with the Sharks leading 28-21, their defense gave out. The Soul scored a touchdown when Dan Raudabaugh found Darius Reynolds on the final play of the half. Unfortunately, the extra point was no good, so the Sharks had the 28-27 lead at halftime.

In the second half, the Sharks a few turnovers to take control. In the beginning of the fourth quarter, the Sharks forced a Soul fumble and they recovered with a 45-34 lead. With a score, the Sharks could break the game open. On the ensuing drive, that is exactly what they did. A touchdown made it 52-34 with 9:31 left in the game.

The Sharks wouldn't let up the rest of the game and would win the game by a final score of 59-41. The Sharks will host their in-state rival Orlando Predators next week while the Soul stay at home to host the Portland Steel.
