Before a crowd of 14,872, the Arizona Rattlers improved to 3-0 on the season as they defeated the Tampa Bay Storm 60-27 on Saturday night in their home opener.

Quarterback Nick Davila was 28-37 for 248 yards and seven touchdowns as the Rattlers offense scored on all but one possession. It was also a great day for Davila because his third child was born six hours before kickoff.

After the Storm surprised everyone by tying the game at 13 in the second quarter, the Rattlers went on a 27-0 run to take a 40-13 lead and blow the game open. The second of those scores came on a 32 yard fumble return for a touchdown by Tyree Glasper to put Arizona up 26-13. The Rattlers completed the scoring with a 40 yard pick six by Kerry Reed, sealing the win.

Next up for the Rattlers: a rematch of ArenaBowl XXIV as they travel to Jacksonville.
