Arena Football Power Rankings: Week 3

8. Tampa Bay Storm

The Storm have been the worst team in the league thus far this season. They can not seem to catch a break. From a 51-point loss to Orlando in the season opener to having an interception in the end zone being returned for a touchdown to clinch a loss in Cleveland, the Storm have not had the best of luck and have certainly not played their best football.

7. Portland Steel

The Steel are the Arena Football League's other winless team, also at 0-3. They gave up 80 points in their season opening loss to the Arizona Rattlers and 70 points in their last loss to the Philadelphia Soul. They have, however, given the Orlando Predators, one of the two undefeated teams in the Arena Football League, a run for their money. Still, two horrible performances leave them winless and a trip to Arizona in two week isn't looking so good, either.

6. Cleveland Gladiators

The Gladiators have been more down than they have been up. They were on the verge of a comeback in Week 1 against the Philadelphia Soul, but fell short. In Week 2, they almost allowed the Tampa Bay Storm steal a win in Cleveland. Last week, their offense turned the ball over, giving the LA KISS a win on their home turf. The Gladiators need to work on both sides of the ball or they're in for a collapse.

5. Los Angeles KISS

The KISS have proven that they are not the same team we have seen in the franchise's first two seasons. In their season-opening win against the Sharks, defense led the way. Defense also helped the KISS pull off another shocker, beat the Gladiators in Cleveland for their first ever win over the Glads. If the KISS defense can keep it up, they could spell trouble for the best offenses in the league in the coming weeks.

4. Philadelphia Soul

The Soul are a well-balanced team, no one can deny that. But they are a team that commits a lot of turnovers, In their opening win against the Cleveland Gladiators, they almost let a 42-7 lead slip away because of turnovers. In their home-opening loss to the Sharks, turnovers is what costed them the game. The Soul need to work on ball control and not turning the ball over in order to stay atop the AFL.

3. Jacksonville Sharks

The Sharks are a step forward from the team that went to the Arena Bowl last season. Their defense is arguably better than the Predators, but what has them at #3 instead of #2 is their season-opening loss to the Los Angeles KISS. The Sharks turned the ball over several times in the fourth quarter of that game, giving the KISS an upset win.

2. Orlando Predators

The Preds are one of two undefeated teams this season. The wins against the Steel and Sharks have not been easy, but they have been wins. Their offense shows to be one of the toughest to stop in the league. If they can improve on defense, they could be considered the top team in the league.

1. Arizona Rattlers

The Rattlers seem like an unstoppable force. Not only have they won all of their three games this season, but they have dominated in doing so. They put up 80, 69 and 60 in their first three games. Sure, these games were against three of the worst teams in the league, but they are still a dominant team nonetheless.
