Arena Football Power Rankings: Week 1

8. Tampa Bay Storm

There are no words for why the Storm are the last ranked team in this week's ranking. They were absolutely obliterated by the Orlando Predators on Friday. Adam Kennedy threw for just 150 yards and committed three turnovers himself. The 76-25 loss to the Preds was the worst loss in franchise history (51 points). Things got so bad for the former New Orleans Voodoo quarterback that he was pulled in the fourth quarter. The defense also gave up five touchdown passes to former Storm and current Predators quarterback Randy Hippeard. If the Storm continue to play like they did Week 1, they will have a long season ahead of them.

7. Portland Steel

The Steel should be the worst ranked team for Week 1, but the Storm's performance proved to be worse. The Steel did give up 80 points to the Arizona Rattlers, but their offensive performance excelled that of the Storm. They also kept this game closer than the Storm did in their game.

6. Jacksonville Sharks

The 2015 runner-up kept their game close against the LA KISS in the first half as the game was tied a 33 at halftime. The second half was a different story, however. The Sharks were outscored by the KISS 31-6. No one expected the KISS to do this, but the Sharks didn't show up in the second half.

5. Cleveland Gladiators

The Gladiators got off to a slow start in their game against the Philadelphia Soul and found themselves down 42-7 in the second quarter. They were on the verge of a comeback, but it was too late. They fell to the Soul, 69-41. Quarterback Shane Austin had three interceptions returned for touchdowns in the first half alone.

4. Philadelphia Soul

The Soul showed us why they have been the most successful sports franchise in Philadelphia for more than a decade. Their defense dominated Cleveland in their 69-41 win and quarterback Dan Raudabaugh showed by he is an MVP, throwing for 233 yards and seven touchdowns.

3. Los Angeles KISS

The KISS shocked the Arena Football world on Saturday night. After two seasons of mediocre football, the KISS were looking to get off to a fresh start this season. They did so in amazing fashion. The KISS outscored the Jacksonville Sharks 31-6 in the second half and the defense forced several turnovers in the upset win.

2. Orlando Predators

The Predators put on an epidemic in Tampa Bay, knocking off their in-state rival Storm in the 3,000th game in dominating fashion. The Predators only trailed once the entire game, and that was when the score was 7-6. After that, they went on a 42-6 run to break the game wide open.

1. Arizona Rattlers

The Rattlers had won three straight Arena Bowls before last season. Last week, they showed us how dominant they really are, scoring 80 points in Portland against the Steel. They also never trailed in the game, making their performance better than that of the Predators.
