CAFL Draft Recap: Beijing Lions

The Beijing Lions had an impressive CAFL draft last night. They were able to take some of the biggest players from the Arena Football League to play on their team in Oct. One of those players, who should stand out to every AFL fan, is Cleveland Gladiators wide receiver Collin Taylor.

Taylor has caught a touchdown pass in 26 straight games. Playing in the CAFL in Oct, he could extend that streak if he catches a touchdown in every game for the remainder of the Gladiators' season.

Another big name player they got was DB James Romain, who plays for the Philadelphia Soul. He is a hard-hitting man who can commit turnovers if needed.

The Lions have also added two backup quarterbacks, Chris Dieker from the Gladiators and Luke Collis from the Soul. If will be interesting to see which player head coach Clint Dolezel, who currently coaches the Soul, decides to start at quarterback.

Their kicker, Pat Clarke, is one that comes from the Indoor Football League's Spokane Shock. He was activated to their roster on May 26. The Indoor Football League playoffs begin in July, so this gives Clarke more than enough time to practice kicking in Beijing.

With all of this AFL talent, plus the talent from the Chinese players on the team, the Lions look like they could be one of the top teams in the league come Nov.
