8. Portland Steel

The Steel may have picked up their first win of the season, but they have still played terrible football over the course of the season.

7. Tampa Bay Storm

They might have won their first game last week on a touchdown with no time left and then been blown out by the worst team in the league this past weekend, but the Storm have still played in close games throughout most of the season.

6. Jacksonville Sharks

Another terrible performance, this one in the fourth quarter of their loss to the Philadelphia Soul, has the Sharks at #6 on this week's list.

5. Cleveland Gladiators

Once thought of as the hottest team in the league over a four-game span, the Gladiators were blown out in their final home game of the regular season by an Arizona Rattlers team that has lost three of their last five games. That and their 1-4 start to the season has the Gladiators at #5.

4. Los Angeles KISS

The KISS are a roller coaster. One week, they're winners. The next week they're on the losing side of a game. They have, however, played much better football than they did in their first two seasons. This KISS team could make a run in the playoffs if they really wanted to.

3. Arizona Rattlers

The loss to the then winless Storm as time expired last week was the Rattlers' third in their last five games after starting the season 5-0. They did answer back in a big way by blowing out the Gladiators. They now sit at a 7-3 record, as well as the #2 team on our list, but they lost the tiebreaker to them.

2. Orlando Predators

The Predators were the last undefeated team in the AFL before losing their next two games. They bounced back with a win in Los Angeles over the KISS and now sit at a 7-3 record. Not only did the defeat the Rattlers to show that they were the better 7-3 team, but also during their two game losing streak and their close win in Los Angeles, they have played good football.

1. Philadelphia Soul

After being possibly the second hottest team in the AFL behind the Gladiators, who had won four in a row, the Soul have reclaimed that title after their win over the Sharks and Gladiators loss to the Rattlers. The Soul also own the best record in the league at 8-2 and they will look to keep that best record in hopes to have the #1 overall seed in the AFL playoffs come August.
