The Storm have announced that they have activated Gerald Young off of injured reserve Sunday. After starting three games for the Storm in 2016, Young went down with injury. In the three games he did play in, he caught nine passes for 109 yards and a touchdown. Not only is Young a star with the receiving core, but he is also dangerous with the return team.

As a kick returner, Young returned 11 kicks for 212 yards. This includes a performance in Week 2 against the Cleveland Gladiators where he recorded a total of 103 return yards.

"Gerald is a big part of our offense and special teams," Storm vice president of football operations Jeff Gooch said, " He can take over a game at any time and we value his ability to do so."

The third-year veteran began his career with the Orlando Predators in 2015. In 2015, Young was picked up by the Las Vegas Outlaws. In a game against the Arizona Rattlers, Young set an Arena Football League single-game record with two missed field goal returns for 106 yards and two touchdowns. He has three career missed field goal returns, all of which he returned for touchdowns.
