2016 Week 8 Preview: Storm vs Gladiators

**UPDATE: Cleveland DB Joe Powell activated from league suspension list**

For the second straight week, Cleveland will wrap up the end of the week for Arena Football.  Given the standings, the close games, and the very tough schedule ahead, this game is very much a must win if the Gladiators want to even flirt with a shot at a first round home playoff game down the road.

Cleveland comes in just a half game behind the KISS for the final first round home game.  It seems really early to bring up, but the Gladiators barely beat the two winless teams in the league at home in Cleveland, including a very lucky overtime win over the Steel last week. They will now face a Storm team that finally went over 30 points for the first time of the season, scoring 27 in the first half and 40 total, against the unbeaten Predators.

Player to keep an eye on:  Collin Taylor. Taylor caught the eventual game winner against the Steel, adding to his franchise record of 23 straight games with at least one touchdown.

About the Storm:  The Storm are a much better team when Jason Boltus starts at quarterback, even if it's at the last second.  Boltus was not named starter last week until less than an hour before kickoff.  Boltus, who is finishing off his teaching and coaching duties for the year, has not been able to practice during the week, but the Storm felt like he was a better option over Jonathan Bane, who is not even on the roster anymore.  Boltus threw for 254 yards, 4 touchdowns and only 1 pick over a strong Preds defense and had the Storm in the game until the very end.

Tampa Bay had a busy week leading into this Monday night's game, seeing Padric Scott get signed by the CFL's Winnipeg Blue Bombers, and then bringing in Kicker Delbert Alvarado a former member of the CFL's Ottawa REDBLACKS on Thursday.
