Predators Stop Storm Surge in 42-40 Victory

The Orlando Predators defeated the Tampa Bay Storm 42-40 in front of a home crowd in Orlando at the Amway Center on Friday night.

With the win, Orlando improves to a league best 7-0 on the season. This matches the best start for the franchise since also starting 7-0 in 2000, 16 years ago. Tampa Bay falls to 0-6 on the year.

Quarterback Randy Hippeard completed 16-26 passes for 220 yards and five touchdowns with one interception.

Receivers Greg Carr and Kendal Thompkins both caught two touchdown passes, and Brandon Thomkins added a receiving touchdown and returned a kickoff for a score.

Leading the way on defense was cornerback Kent Richardson with eight solo tackles and one interception.

The Predators will travel to play the Philadelphia Soul in Week 8 on CBS Sports Network on Saturday, May 21 at 7:30 p.m.
