Following last week's loss to Cleveland, Jacksonville Sharks kicker Marco Capozzoli announced his retirement, ending a prolific career that saw him vault to the top of the record books as the Sharks' all-time leader in field goals (24) and extra points (121).

During the bye week, Jacksonville moved to find his replacement ahead of Saturday's game against the Portland Steel. They found that replacement in kicker Jon Striefsky, who the Sharks signed on Wednesday. Per team policy, the contract terms were not disclosed.

Striefsky (6’, 175 lbs) is a three-year veteran in the Arena Football League out of the University of Delaware, spending the bulk of his career with the Philadelphia Soul.

The Towamencin, Pennsylvania native started with the Soul in 2011, and played one game in Jacksonville the following season. This will be Striefsky's first action on the field since playing for Philadelphia in 2014. He does not quite have Capozzoli's credentials, but he has kicked 39 of 48 extra points in his career, along with two of his four field goal attempts.
